This small cabinet (bookcase) features a "retro-modern" aesthetic that evokes the warmth of the 1950s (Showa 30s). The doors are adorned with oval-shaped frames, each showcasing an elegant, hand-painted rose motif?a charming design characteristic of the era. The wood, which has deepened in tone over the years, is complemented by classic metal hardware and drawers that retain a sense of artisanal craftsmanship. Despite its compact size, the unit includes an internal shelf and a convenient drawer at the bottom, making it highly functional?whether used as a bookcase, a display shelf for your favorite trinkets, or a general-purpose cabinet. Signs of age?such as faded paint, minor scuffs, and character-filled nicks?tell a rich, vintage story. This one-of-a-kind piece adds a gentle, warm atmosphere to any space, whether it be a traditional Japanese-style room, a restored old house, or a retro-inspired interior.
Era: Circa 1950s (Showa 30s)
Features: Double-door storage (with an internal shelf) and a bottom drawer.
Condition: As expected with an antique/vintage item, there are signs of age such as scuffs, scratches, and fading or wear to the painted motifs. However, the structure has been carefully maintained, ensuring it remains fully functional for use or display.
*Please consider this item with an appreciation for the unique character that comes with age (aging/patina).
