This small chest of drawers, cherished and passed down since the Meiji era, captivates with the warmth of its wooden surface. The solid wood, having deepened in character over the years, bears a unique texture?a testament to the lives of those who once used it?along with a rich, aged patina. The top three tiers feature drawers with handles on either side for convenient access, while the bottom tier showcases a clever arrangement of a wide, horizontal drawer alongside a smaller one?a design hallmark typical of antique Japanese furniture. Accented with black-painted iron hardware and softened by the gentle wear of long-term use, this piece brings a quiet, composed presence to any setting, whether in a traditional Japanese-style space or a contemporary interior. While it does not come with a key, it serves beautifully as a functional storage unit, a display stand for your favorite small objects, or a striking interior accent. As a one-of-a-kind piece, it infuses your space with the rich, storied legacy of Japan’s past.
