This antique wooden chest?a slim, multi-drawer unit?is steeped in the romance of history, complete with original ink inscriptions dating back to the 16th year of the Meiji era (1883). The wood, having deepened in tone over the long passage of time, possesses a rich, evocative texture that could only be forged through years of use?lending the piece a singular, commanding presence. Despite its sleek, vertical, and space-saving form, it is highly functional, featuring multiple drawers and a cabinet space at the base. The handwritten ink inscriptions?still visible inside the drawers?offer a tangible connection to the atmosphere of the Meiji era and the warmth of the artisan’s own handiwork. Perfectly suited for a narrow nook or corner in your home, it also serves beautifully as a display piece for a shop or as a refined storage space for your cherished small items. We invite you to bring home this authentic, time-worn antique and enjoy the unique character it carries from a bygone era.
