A compact, modern-made *kuruma-dansu* (wheeled chest)?featuring small drawers and a single-hinged door?crafted in the style of traditional folk art (*mingei*) or artisan furniture. This piece reimagines the classic wheeled chest design for contemporary living spaces, featuring a striking, embossed metal fitting depicting a dragon on the uppermost drawer. The front and top surfaces showcase a beautiful, bold *keyaki* (Japanese zelkova) wood grain. Meticulous attention to detail is evident throughout, from the single-hinged door with an internal shelf (bottom right) and the small drawer (bottom left, featuring a design that incorporates a locking bar mechanism) to the base design that mimics the look of traditional wheeled legs. In excellent condition, this piece is ready for immediate use in modern homes or shops as a display stand, TV console, or side chest.
