This is an antique wooden mortar (hewn from a single log) crafted by boldly hollowing out a thick, natural timber. **Bold, Sculptural Beauty:** It embodies the rugged, honest aesthetic unique to antique folk implements, featuring visible adze marks from hand-carving and recessed handholds carved into the sides. **Aged Wood Patina:** The wood surface?dried over many years and rich with character?exhibits deep textures and subtle shading that evoke a unique sense of tranquility and presence. **Versatile Use:** While perfect as a planter cover that snugly holds a potted plant, it is also popular as a creative interior accent; when flipped over, it serves as a substantial stool, a plant stand, or a side table. It makes an ideal accent piece for various settings, including Japanese-modern or traditional folk-house styles, industrial spaces that blend old and new materials, and simple, modern rooms that embrace the *wabi-sabi* aesthetic.
