This is a deeply characterful, antique kneading bowl, painstakingly carved by a craftsman from a single log using an adze?with every stroke imbued with his spirit. The irregular adze marks create beautiful interplay between light and shadow, exuding an overwhelming sense of solidity and an "indigenous beauty" that modern, machine-carved vessels simply cannot replicate. The interior is finished with a coating, making it suitable for actual use, though it also serves as a stunning decorative object.
