He has elevated traditional metal engraving techniques into modern forms and has received numerous prestigious awards. He has served as a member of the Japan Art Academy and a managing director of the Nitten Exhibition, and has also been awarded the Order of the Sacred Treasure, Third Class, making him one of Japan's most celebrated metal craftspeople.
