Senjafuda Collection: Small Sliding Door Set, Late Showa Era. Senjafuda are paper plaques bearing a name, family name, address, and other information, which are affixed to shrines and temples as proof of worship. During the Edo period, "senja mai" (pilgrimages to numerous shrines and temples) became popular, and these plaques became popular as commemorative gifts. They evolved from simple commemorative gifts to a cultural hobby of competing over design and color. Please check the images and videos for signs of deterioration.
